Began farming as a 50\/50 sharemilker in 1997 with 150 cows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Graduated from Massey University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Applied Economics degree, majoring in Agricultural Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Was a Grand Finalist in the Young Farmer of the Year contest in 2003 placing 7th<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just retired as the National President of Federated Farmers of NZ, which I had been since 2020, with a previous 3 years on the board as the Vice President, and a prior 3 years as National Dairy Chair. Have been involved with Federated Farmers since 2004 when I started as the Provincial Young Farmers representative and have worked my way up the various roles in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have also been on the Board of the International Dairy Federation, since 2020 as the farming representative.
