Biography

Nigel Rowe-Lucas – Kraft-Heinz

Senior Agronomist at Kraft-Heinz for the last 17 years based in Christchurch. In this role responsible for procuring and delivering the appropriate raw material of a range of vegetable crops for procressing into frozen and dried products for Wattie’s and Heinz brands locally and internationally, as well for a wide range of external international customers.

Also leads an internal research and development programme focussed on sustainably maintaining and/or improving crop performance and raw material quality for the benefit of Kraft-Heinz and grower suppliers. This includes working closely with seed and agrichemical companies, Plant and Food Research and Process Vegetables New Zealand, as well as the wider industry.

Prior to current role worked for Dow AgroSciences (now Corteva) conducting early stage agrichemical research and development, and partiularly fungicide development.
