Biography
Andrew Hoggard – ACT Party
With my Wife Audra and Daughters Michaela and Payton we have a 300ha dairy farm north of Feilding. Were we milk 550 cows. Began farming as a 50/50 sharemilker in 1997 with 150 cows.
Graduated from Massey University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Applied Economics degree, majoring in Agricultural Economics.
Was a Grand Finalist in the Young Farmer of the Year contest in 2003 placing 7th
Just retired as the National President of Federated Farmers of NZ, which I had been since 2020, with a previous 3 years on the board as the Vice President, and a prior 3 years as National Dairy Chair. Have been involved with Federated Farmers since 2004 when I started as the Provincial Young Farmers representative and have worked my way up the various roles in the province.
I have also been on the Board of the International Dairy Federation, since 2020 as the farming representative. With a prior 4 years on the Scientific Programme Co-ordination Committee, again as the farming representative.
In 2016 I was involved in an ILO sector Group meeting, on Sustainable Rural Livelihoods, where I was the Spokesperson for the Employer’s, in that Tripartite meeting.
