Biography

Mel Mylvaganam – Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment

I am a senior policy advisor in the Immigration (International and Humanitarian) Policy team in MBIE, and the lead on the RSE policy review. My team was established in April 2022 and is responsible for RSE and other Pacific migration policies, along with those relating to refugees, climate mobility and immigration responses to international humanitarian crises. Prior to this role, Mel worked on ethical and anti-money laundering issues for the Bar of England and Wales. She has worked across policy and regulatory spheres in both NZ and the UK for 10 years, including in the healthcare, legal, environmental and immigration sectors.
